How We Work

Our very experienced valuers would be delighted to meet you at your property at a time to suit yourself. Monopoly offers a free of charge, no obligation appraisal of your property. Unlike other agents after we have visited we won’t pester you to go to market but leave you with the all information you need about your property and how to get in touch with us when you decide you are ready for us to sell your home. You can contact us on a local number for your area 7 days a week.

Get a FREE valuation

Once our valuers have visited and you have decided you are ready to sell your property, give us a ring or send us an email to arrange for one of the team to visit you and take photos, measurements and write the description (we call this a book on). If you want to come to market quickly or you are already on the market with another agent and don’t need a valuation, you can jump straight ahead to this stage. Unless we inform you differently Monopoly will always get the draft details delivered/sent to you for approval within 24 hours of us visiting so you can get on the market asap. Once you receive the draft brochure the time scale falls back to you, as soon as we get it back to us either hand delivered to the office, or in the stamp addressed envelope provided we will get your property on the market within minutes.

The monopoly team is here to support you at every stage throughout the sale of your home during a time which some find very stressful. Our phone lines are open 7 days a week, until 8 in the evenings during the week and any calls out of office hours are transferred to an overflow answering service who will take your details and forward them to one of the directors and the office managers mobiles, so they can respond to any offers or change in viewing arrangements, lost viewers etc, even on a Sunday afternoon. Within the office we have 3 experienced valuers with huge local knowledge as well as the admin support staff, within the team there is a huge amount of experience of the buying and selling process and all the issues that may arise however obscure! has probably been dealt with before by one of the team over the years so they can help with a solution.

Once your property has gone on the market we hope to get you viewings very quickly, some contact monopoly within minutes as the prospective buyer may have set an alert on Rightmove for properties in your area and price bracket so see it the minute it goes on the market. Most new properties will get a viewing within the first 10 days, the higher up the price bracket the less viewings you are likely to get. Remember because the buyers can see everything about your house on the internet you won’t get lots of nosey viewers like you would have years ago, so in general properties get less than they used to and those viewings that take place are usually genuinely interested in seeing the property having studied it online. A lot of prospective buyers also won’t view until they have sold their own property so there may be lots of buyers out there waiting that won’t arrange to view until they are in a position to proceed. Once a viewing takes place we will attempt to contact them for feedback the following day which we will pass on to you. Hopefully following a viewing the buyer will want to make an offer which they can do 7 days a week. As soon as we receive and offer we will every attempt to contact you immediately to discuss.

Once a sale is agreed both the buyers and the vendors need to choose a solicitor (we can help you with this) and let Monopoly know so we can send the paperwork out to all parties to get the sale moving forward. You also need to let your mortgage company or financial advisor know that you have found a property so they can arrange your valuation/survey as soon as possible and move forward towards getting your mortgage offer. The surveyor will contact monopoly to arrange the valuation and to check on the access details for your property.

A sale/purchase can take anything from 2 days! upto 12 weeks with an average sale where mortgages are involved taking 8-10 weeks. Monopoly are here to assist at any point during those weeks. We can also help you to find a financial advisor or a solicitor if want some advice.
